What's special about A back story bag?

Well...besides the fact that they are conceived and crafted from love, Back Story Bags are special in other ways too! Each bag is made using repurposed materials. We use at least 50% (give or take, we're not mathematicians!) up-cycled materials in each bag. recycling or repurposing materials is good for the planet, good for the materials, and good for our creative hearts and minds. this also means that no two are alike. Because  no one has the same backstory

How did you come up with the name back story bags, anyway?

Take a look through the collections. then go to the contact page and send me an e-mail to let me know what size/style bag you prefer, what you'd like it made from, favorite/least favorite colors, and whatever else you'd like to tell me (Maybe where the material came from?). I'll respond with a few questions and let you know where to send your materials.  my usual turn around time is ~3 weeks. After I receive the material i can confirm what size bag can be made (based on seam locations, usable material etc.), pricing, and what the queue looks like

How does custom work, work?

Finding materials can be by deesign, happenstance, or just pure luck. sometimes I am gifted materials, i seek them out at antique fairs, yard sales, local thrift stores, and sometimes my own closet. I never know when I will see something I have to have, because I know how it can be reborn!

Where do you get your materials from?

of course! we all have things we hang on to for sentimental reasons that end up in a box at the back of a closet. Maybe it's a baby blanket, an album cover, a prom dress, or if your like me it's a rawer/dresser full of concert tshirts. As long as the fabric is in good shape and its not fragile (think grandma's wedding gown or peeling slikscreening) then it can have new life as something you can actually use again.

can you make a piece of my backstory in to a bag?
